Abstract

A knowledge engineer who blends human creativity and computer intelligence. Chek Tien Tan is an Associate Professor at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and leads the Centre for Immersification. His research centers around Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), with notable contributions in interacting fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computer Graphics and Gamification, demonstrated through open-source projects and publications in leading venues like ACM CHI and SIGGRAPH. His teaching is deeply informed by research and he is a recipient of SIT's Teaching Excellence Award. He also played pivotal roles in developing joint engineering and design programs with the DigiPen Institute of Technology. Within the community, Chek advocates for open and accessible technology bridging academia and industry. He chairs the ACM Chapter on Intelligent Immersification In the Metaverse (I²M) with NVIDIA and Meta.
