Brief

Recreational sea diving and other related underwater activities are common exhilarating experiences for many people. However, it is dangerous, costly and time-consuming for novices to learn.

UnderwaterVR is our attempt at recreating realistic underwater experiences with VR, in a low-cost and safe fashion. Real-life underwater activities like scuba diving or engaging in water theme park slides involve some level of risk no matter how many safety measures are undertaken. In scuba diving for example, anyone that wishes to engage in it needs to be certified formally in a training regime in order to be able to do so safely. We aim to provide an alternative for people to be able to easily access such activities at the comfort of a much safer environment, e.g., an indoor swimming pool.
